MISSION
To support everyone in feeling well inside and out, we offer knowledge, skills, care, and a safe space to help each person heal, grow, and thrive in harmony with themselves, others, and Vaheguru.. Inspired by Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji who offered healing, strength, and justice, we honour the Gurdwara as a sanctuary for both spiritual and worldly wellness.

WELLNESS
At Guru Nanak Gurdwara Camberley, our holistic approach to wellness flows from Sikh teachings, embracing mind, body, life, and spirit so the sangat may flourish in vitality, nourishment, and chardi kala (high spirit).
VISION
Guided by the spirit of Sarbat Da Bhala - the welfare of all, we strive to support a sangat that is:
-
Spiritually connected to Vaheguru and our true selves
-
Emotionally uplifted through kindness and compassion
-
Physically nourished through care, rest, and healthy living
GOALS
-
Create a thriving, inclusive wellness culture for all with wellbeing seen as part of daily life
-
Integrate wellness into the heart of Gurdwara life, and facilities, blending modern health practices with Sikh values of seva, sarbat da bhala, and spiritual growth
-
Empower the sangat with skills, knowledge, and connection to improve their own wellbeing and support others
-
Ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement
MIND
Peace & Understanding
We nurture a safe and welcoming space to talk openly about mental health, break stigma, and offer compassionate support, helping the sangat learn, understand, and feel empowered.
BODY
Staying Healthy
We nurture and nourish health through classes, workshops, and activities for every age, empowering the sangat to stay active, well, and live in chardi kala.
LIFE
Life Growth
We enrich wellness for life by building skills, sharing wisdom, and offering support that supports the sangat to live well and flourish at every age and stage.
SPIRIT
Connection with the Divine
We deepen spiritual wellness by fostering connection with Vaheguru and each other, nurturing the soul through simran, meditation, reflection, and the practices that bring peace and chardi kala.
MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
Mental Health First Aid is a supportive, confidential, resource available to anyone in the sangat who may be struggling with their wellbeing. Our Mental Health First Aiders are trained to listen without judgement, recognise when someone might be finding things difficult, and offer calm, compassionate support. They're not clinicians, but they can help you talk through what's going on, explore your options, and signpost you to the right place if you need further help.
Reaching out to an MHFA can be a reassuring first step, whether you're feeling overwhelmed, going through a tough time, or simply need someone to talk to. They're here to make sure you don't have to navigate things alone and will ensure you feel safe in the process. We have Mental Health First Aiders from different backgrounds, both male and female. English and Punjabi speakers who are available for anyone to speak to in confidence.
If you have any questions or would like to set up a conversation you can do by emailing mentalhealthcare@gngc.org.
